After Saturday's wipeout, the conditions relented sufficiently for four of the five scheduled matches to go ahead.
Tuesday night saw Blidworth Welfare bring Matlock Town Reserves' run of five successive wins to an end, the sides sharing the points in a 1-1 draw. Both goals came in the second half, Moussa Diouf's goal for the Young Gladiators being equalised by Blidworth's Tom Sharpe.
The two outstanding fourth round ties in the Notts FA Senior Cup were finally played on Wednesday. Hucknall Town dominated their tie with Step 6 Clipstone and could have scored far more than the one that separated the teams at the end. Hucknall were denied by a superb performance from Clipstone's keeper who pulled off a string of fine saves and the woodwork, which they hit on three occasions. A scrambled effort from Dave Leak on 76 minutes proved decisive. The other CML side left in the competition, Retford United, fell to a 2-0 defeat at East Midlands Counties leaders Selston. A goal in the 7th minute and a second ten minutes after the break saw Retford depart the competition.
Sherwood Colliery put six past Shirebrook Rangers in the Steel Beams Derby Presidents Cup. The goals came at regular intervals through the match, Tim Gregory giving the Wood a 21st minute lead which Micky Taylor and Ben Rogers increased by half time. Danny Barke got number four in the 66th minute with Mat Day and Taylor bringing up the half dozen.
