In response to an email dated the 9th April 2020 and guidance from the FA, the Central Midlands Football League Management Committee held a video meeting on Monday 4th May 2020 to decide how to finish the season 2019/2020.
The LMC agreed, after talking all advice into consideration, the following:
North & South Division.
The committee agreed that both the North and South divisions (Step 7) should be null and void. No league champions would be announced and in line with the NLS decision no promotions or relegations would take place.
Division 1 North & South
The committee agreed to adopt the same decision as for the North & South division. As these 2 divisions are not part of the NLS we could have opted for a points per game outcome but as a committee we felt that due to the number of matches still to be played this would be unfair. As a committee we agreed that there would be no promotion or relegation from Division 1 but that under League Rule (SCOR) Rule 2L we can move teams to a suitable division should we see fit. Any clubs moved in this way would need to be ratified at the AGM.
The committee agreed that all cup competitions should be cancelled. This decision was reached after considering the following:
• No knowledge of when we will be able to play football again.
• If football were allowed to re-commence at the start of season 20/21 what would be the eligibility of players to play in season 19/20 competitions?
It is our intention to hold an SGM and ask clubs to ratify this decision. Details of how the SGM will be held will be communicated at a later date. The LMC decision can be ratified by a simple majority.
