Photo ofThe floodlit Friday night game this week was in the Premier South Division at Blidworth, where, after a slow start, the home side turned up the heat in the second half to beat Arnold Town 6-0. The only goal of the first half came from Alex Neilson on 32 minutes. Luke Bacon made it two on the hour, after which the goals came at regular intervals. Adi Harris scored twice with Jake Batty and a stoppage time goal from Matty Toseland completing the half dozen. A mention for Arnold keeper Jake Beresford-Allen who pulled off a number of excellent saves under great pressure which kept the final score within limits. Mickleover Reserves took their goal tally to 17 in two games as they hammered Wirksworth Ivanhoe 8-1. Devon Smith scored a hat trick to ad to his five last Saturday, George Atwal grabbed two and there were also goals for Fin Barker, Jacob Edge-Lucas and Jude Ayetine. Dan Watson got a consolation for Wirksworth. Pinxton almost matched them, scoring seven without reply against Hilton Harriers. Jay Cooper and Sion Green each scored twice with Kieran Debrouwer, John Fones and and an own goal completing the scoring. A single Riley Phillips goal secured the points for Long Eaton Community against Rowsley 86 and Teveral Reserves also won by the only goal against Holbrook St Michaels, Kyle Coleman scoring the winner on 77 minutes. Ashland Rovers gained maximum points, beating Sherwood Colliery Reserves 3-2 thanks to Ben Jones, Brad Newby and Aaron Pride, with Lucan Barker and Klarke Greenham replying for the Wood. Linby Colliery were 4-2 winners at Mansfield Hosiery Mills with Sean Craven’s double added to by Danny Hayes and Ash Foster, the Millers’ goals coming from Dom Witton and Luke Greaves. South Normanton Athletic and Mickleover RBL shared four goals at Lees Lane, Matt Fowler put the Shiners ahead on 25 minutes, Jack Smedley levelling just before half time. Henry Brooks restored the home side’s lead midway through the second half only for Jordan Lee to equalise again nine minutes from time.
Clay Cross lead the way in the Premier North Division, making it three wins from three with a 3-1 win at Crowle Colts. Two goals from Lewis Macaskill and one for Jordan Hendley did the trick, Tom Moulds with Crowle’s reply. St Joseph’s Rockware were 7-3 winners against Staveley Reserves with two goals apiece for Daniel Wiltshire and Ben Brown and one each for Jaden Thackeray, Tom Mullen and Max Sykes, Staveley's scorers were Zander Duhameau, Kian Tansley and Jack Allerton. Newark Town travelled to Kiveton Miners Welfare, returning with the points following a 3-0 win. James Gardner put the ahead in the 28th minute, Nathan Arnold getting a second five minutes before half-time. After Newark missed a penalty, sub Zak Kersey added a third in the 82nd minute. Collingham defeated AFC Phoenix 2-0 at Brinsworth, Zubair Gibson and Richard Willatt with the goals. Shay Evans-Booth hit a hat trick as Thorne Colliery saw off the challenge of Askern Miners by five goals to one at Moorends. Thorne’s other goals were scored by Matt Gains and Josh Gelder, Jason Kearsley with Askern’s goal. Harworth Colliery kick started their season with a narrow 2-1 win at Sutton Rovers. Charlie Baird put the visitors ahead on 20 minutes, Ethan Redmond pulling Sutton level with 35 played before the decisive goal scored by Ainsley Finney fifteen minutes from the end. Glapwell picked up their second win by two goals to one at Sheffield FC Reserves. Charles Bradwell opened the scoring for Glapwell in the 26th minute, Max Rhodes putting the sides level three minutes before the hour. Glapwell’s winner came late, Liam Moore’s goal scoring on 87 minutes.
In Macron Sports Nottingham Division One North, Thorne Colliery won 5-2 at 780 JLC with Callum Verhees and Kirk Frost each scoring twice and Oliver Beaglehole also on target while Olly Bradbury got both for 780. Bessacarr beat Dearne & District 2-0 thanks to Tom Finley and Danny Taylor. Retford FC came from three down to force a draw at Harworth Colliery. Mick Wibberley (2) and Ryan Dickinson put Harworth well in front only for Retford to fight back for the draw with Kieran Taylor, Liam Cross and Joel Ward getting a goal apiece.
Top score of the day came in Division One Central at the Clod where Woodhouse Colts put Mansfield Hosiery Mills to the sword, scoring twelve goals without reply. Jamie Royle starred with six, Jayden Bull got a couple with Max Radford, Charles Simpkins, Ryan Clarke and Jess Kowalski making up the round dozen. Bakewell Town defeated Blidworth Welfare 4-1, Joe Poste, Alex Moth, Aaron Maunde and an own goal doing the trick, Blidworth replying through Matty Toseland who had also scored for the first team on Friday evening. Kilburn started their season with a 3-1 win over Ashland Rovers with Isaac Anderson- Raymond getting two and Dan Millward also on the scoresheet. Ashland’s was an own goal.
Two games in Division One South. Carlton Town beat Melbourne Dynamo 3-1, goals here for Ellis Tongue, Kia Moore and Jamie Davies while Melbourne whose reply came from 16 year old Oscar Supple had the handicap of losing their keeper after 35 minutes for handling outside the area. Ripley Town also won 3-1 at Linby Colliery with goals from Shane Burrows, Arron Leeman and Aaron Northmore.
