The Central Midlands League returns on August 7th with a total of 69 teams contesting the five divisions with several new clubs and one or two familiar faces returning.
The two Premier divisions will each run with 18 teams. In the North division Boynton Sports have returned to the Sheffield Senior League but there are four new teams in Sheffield reserves and Glapwell, both promoted from Division One North while Dearne and District and Askern Miners join from the Doncaster League, CML football returning to Askern after a season’s gap while Renishaw have changed their name to Kiveton Miners Welfare.
The South Division lose Underwood Villa and Holbrook Sports from last season but gain Long Eaton Community from Division One South, Wirksworth Ivanhoe from Division One Central and welcome back Mickleover RBL who return after a season’s absence.
Division One consists of three groups of ten teams. The northern section gains new development teams from Dearne and District and two former Central Midlands teams in Bottesford Town and Retford FC.
Division One Central retains eight teams from last season who are joined by newly formed reserve sides from Blidworth Welfare and Mansfield Hosiery Mills.
The southern section receives Selston reserves and Ripley Town from last season’s central division and five new sides. Carlton Town enter their development team, Ballers FC switch from the Notts Senior League, Derby Singh Brothers and Castle Donington have both joined from the Midland Regional Alliance while Edwalton Cavaliers are taking their first steps in senior football.
