Official Statement re the current lockdown

By Richard Lane

The league chairman has issued the following statement

Colleagues,
The Government's decision to lock-down the Country for a second time from the 5th November until 2nd December, including Grassroots football, was discussed at the League's
Management Committee meeting on Monday evening.

The decision taken by the League Committee was that the Central Midlands Football League would be following the guidelines set out by the Government, Football Association, and our Sanctioning Authority, Derbyshire County CFA, and therefore, all matches in the CMFL, including league and Cup matches will be suspended from 11 pm tonight (Wednesday) 4th November 2020, until at least the 2nd December 2020.

The lockdown still needs ratification in Parliament today, but if as expected it will be passed, then the above will come into force.

This is a fluid situation, and the League will be keeping an eye on any developments and as soon as we get any further information or advice I will distribute this to you all.

In the meantime, please take all precautions possible and most of all stay safe.

Kind Regards

Paul Vallis
