There were just three matches in midweek, all in the Premier South division. Mickleover Reserves moved to the top of the league following another big win as they brushed aside the challenge of South Normanton Athletic 7-1. Pablo Mills scored a hat trick, there were two from Jahvan Davidson-Miller and a goal each for Devon Smith and Emilio De Abreu. Henry Brooks replied for the Shiners. Pinxton won 4-1 at Arnold Town. Leo Marshall gave them a 10th minute lead, Josh Gregory making it two eight minutes later. Rob Fretwell put the visitors further ahead ten minutes before half time but despite a lot of pressure the only addition to the lead came in the 85th minute from Tom Ellis. Arnold got a very late consolation scored by Adam Cech. Two goals from Reece Widdowson and an own goal gave Long Eaton Community a 3-1 win over Hilton Harriers for whom Joe Davies got the goal.
The weekend matches began with Thorne Colliery’s unbeaten record in the Premier North division finally coming to an end at Dinnington Town after a run of eighteen matches. Dinnington won 2-1 , Lewis Twibell putting them ahead in the first half. Thorne were reduced to ten men, Adam Moxam scoring the resultant penalty, Andy Walkden with the goal for Thorne. Retford United beat AFC Bentley 4-1 at Cannon Park. Mark West gave them a 38th minute lead Daniel Booth adding another five minutes later. Although Luke Flanagan got one back just before half time further goals from Dean Conway and Charlie Baird sealed the win. It was the same scoreline at Harworth Colliery where the home side halted AFC Phoenix’s mini-revival with two goals each from Rio Allen and Billy Ball, Carlton Chisambara with the goal for Phoenix. Clay Cross Town stepped up their challenge by winning 3-2 at SJR Worksop. A Lewis Macaskill double and a 40 yard shot from Carl Whitford won it for the Millers with Jaden Thackery scoring one of the goals for the hosts. A hat trick from Joe Harvey won the points for Sheffield Reserves away at Sutton Rovers, while Kiveton Miners Welfare played out a goalless draw at home to Glapwell. The match between Dearne & District and Newark Town was abandoned after 64 minutes due to deteriorating weather conditions with Newark leading 1-0 through Lewis Chambers.
In the Premier South Division Pinxton inflicted only the second defeat of the season on Linby Colliery, the game at Wharf Road ending 7-3. Scorers for Pinxton were Zac Melrose who hit a hat trick, Sion Green with two and Leo Marshall. an own goal making up the total. Travis Shooter, Sean Craven and Ben Jones were on target for Linby. Holbrook St Michaels were also among the goals as they won 7-0 at Nottingham FC. There was a hat trick for Ben Cartwright, two from Dylan Garnett and one each for Morgan Holloway and Regan Bickerton. Sherwood Colliery Reserves went one better as they racked up eight at struggling Arnold Town. Ethan Wiesztort’s hat trick was added to by doubles from Ben Jones and Brad Newby and one for Tristan Burrell. At the business end of the table Blidworth regained the top spot with a 3-0 win at Rowsley 86, Luke Bacon with two and Adie Harris the scorers. Mickleover Reserves drop to second after a 1-1 draw at Long Eaton Development, George Atwal with the goal for Mickleover. South Normanton Athletic picked up a good point at Mickleover RBL, Jaydon Jones-Robinson and Elliott Bland getting the goals for the Shiners, Lewis Durow and Liam Oliver with a penalty replying for the Legion. Two goals each from Tom Mellor and Lucas Brough inspired Wirksworth Ivanhoe’s 4-1 win over Mansfield Hosiery Mills while Hilton Harriers were 2-0 winners at Ashland Rovers the goals coming from Tom Watson and Cameron Sellors.
No matches in Division One today, with the majority of teams involved in the Presidents Cup competition. 780 JLC beat Kilburn 4-2, their scorers were Nathan Smith, Nathan Watson, Olly Bradbury and Josh Law. Bakewell Town got the better of Bessacarr 3-0, Ben Rach, Ben Brown and, on his debut, Tommy Grant with the goals, Heanor Town travelled to Blidworth Welfare, coming back with a 4-1 win thanks to goals from Josh Newnham, Myles Scott, Ashley Butterworth and Vaughn Hallsworth, Toby Birch with one for Blidworth. Dec Jenkins scored the only goal of the game at home to PMG Academy, William Welch doing the same for Holbrook St Michaels who defeated Melbourne Dynamo. Charles Simpkins grabbed both for Woodhouse Colts as they beat Carlton Town 2-1, Elliott Tongue with Carlton’s goal while an Adam Busuttill double proved decisive in Ripley Town’s 2-0 win at Ollerton Town. Bottesford Town also won 2-0 away at Newark Town.
Crowle Colts reached round four of the Lincs FA Junior Cup, beating Scotter United 3-0, Cory Bacon scoring twice, Lewis Walker with the other goal.
