In weather more like August than November Dearne raced into a second minute lead courtesy of ENZO GUARINI cutting into the penalty area from the left unchallenged and hitting a shot into the near top corner.
And it was Guarini in attacking mode who threatened on a number of occasions during the course of the opening twenty minutes or so to increase this advantage.
There was time for defender Liam Flint to move up with the attack and shoot high over the bar following a free kick, and cutting in from the right this time Guarini fluffed another chance to increase the lead.
A lofted ball into the penalty area for Carlton Carty wouldn’t drop for the diminutive winger and he couldn’t keep his shot down.
Yorkshire Main’s best effort during the first half hour came from a 28th minute free kick via Ethan Hargreaves but the ball wouldn’t dip in time and flashed an inch or two over the bar.
Dearne’s lead doubled on the half hour courtesy of Liam Marsden’s enormous throw in which beat a posse of defenders almost on the goal line and finally dropped into the net via the head of visiting skipper JOSEPH AUSTIN.
Teenage debutant goalkeeper Caden Rylee-Grimshaw distinguished himself with an excellent save from a Christopher Wood shot on 34 minutes, and no shame was taken from this save despite the Referee’s Assistant’s flag for offside.
Dearne’s attacking qualities showed again three minutes before the break when James Ghaichem’s header was headed on again by Joseph Austin and Nicholas Guest’s shot was too high to end this exciting move.

Half time:
Yorkshire Main 0 Dearne & District 2

Guarini teed up Guest for what should have been a third goal for the visitors three minutes into the second period, but the latter’s shot was a shade too high – in fact the ball finished up out of the ground!!
Guarini was in action again as the game neared its three-quarters mark shooting a whisker wide with a snap shot from just outside the penalty area. And after a scrappy and disjointed start to the second half the game got better as Yorkshire Main started to increase in confidence, but they were unable to trouble Sam Andrew in the visitors goal.
Rylee-Grimshaw produced an excellent flying save to deny Guest a goal in the 78th minute.
However, with substitutes now being introduced at regular intervals by both sides Dearne finally confirmed their right to all three points in the 82 minute which George Williams, with practically his first touch of the game put NICHOLAS GUEST through for a third visiting goal.
It might have been four when another substitute, Tom Lambert, got through with two minutes of normal time remaining, but he shot wastefully wide with only Rylee-Grimshaw to beat.
