Central Midlands Alliance Roundup for November 18th

MIDWEEK MATCHES

Another very thin midweek for spectators with just four matches to choose from. Two ties in the Abacus Lighting Floodlit Cup were completed. In an all Division One North match Worksop Town had a comfortable 7-0 win against Bottesford Town. The goals came from Dan Gillett with two, Alfe Parnell, Brad Charlesworth, Ethan Slater, Louis Brown and Kirk Bradshaw. Joining the Tigers in Round Two are Chesterfield Youth who went through 4-0 away at Arnold Town. After a goalless first half, Arnold were caught cold at the start of the second as Fallet Bamber broke the deadlock three minutes after the restart, James Simmonite getting a second just a minute later. The visitors extended their lead, Tom Pawson scoring on 75 minutes, Yasser Rby finishing the job in the closing stages. In Division One West Mickleover Athletic returned to the top of the table following a 3-2 win against Holbrook St Michaels. Scorers for Mickleover were Cole Hassell with two and Jamie Laird, Holbrook replying with goals from Kieran Smith and Chris Whitehead. The league’s interest in the Sheffield Senior Cup ended on Tuesday night. Forced to reverse their tie with Northern Counties side Parkgate, AFC Phoenix reached the half time interval with the match scoreless, but lost their way in the second half, Parkgate running in five to advance into the next round.

WEEKEND MATCHES

BLACK DRAGON BADGES PREMIER NORTH DIVISION

Leaders Dearne & District, while maintaining their perfect record, were pushed more than usual by Staveley Reserves who staged a remarkable comeback which almost caused an upset. It was business as usual in the first half as an early Tommy Needham goal was followed by a Curtis Wilkinson hat trick, giving Dearne a seemingly unassailable half time lead. After Dearne had used all five Subs, Charlie Bingham pulled a goal back before Wilkinson limped off leaving the home side a man short. James Stennett and Danny Fullwood then reduced the lead to a single goal leaving Dearne with a nervous last few minutes. A significant win for AFC Phoenix who were 3-1 winners at Rossington Main Reserves. They got off to a brisk start Hassan Daud scoring in the 8th and 11th minutes with Callum Jarvis netting number three a minute later. Damien Wieczorek did get one back for Rossington five minutes after the restart, but it wasn’t enough. Dinnington Town defeated Elite AFC 4-2 to strengthen their hold on third spot in the table. Ben Bertram scored in the 19th minute, Justin Circuit making it two with 38 played. Jacob Tupling scored for Elite shortly after half-time but a second from Bertram on the hour restored the two goal lead. Tommy Pallett got a second for the visitors midway through the half but Josh Baxter finally put the game to bed ten minutes from time. The match between Hatfield Town and Woodhouse Colts ended in a goalless draw.

PREMIER SOUTH DIVISION

At last, after eleven straight defeats, a win for Nottingham FC, Mickleover Reserves on the receiving end of a 2-1 scoreline. The scorers of the all important goals were Solomon Godwin and Lavontie Cameron. A better result too for fellow strugglers Holbrook St Michaels who went down to a narrow 2-1 defeat against unbeaten Derby Singh Brothers. Kieran Smith with the goal for Holbrook while Manzoor Amiri and Khaleeq Shaffique shaded it for Singhs. Improving Arnold Town had a 4-3 win against a Teversal side whose losing streak now stands at six. Craig Taylor gave Arnold a 12th minute lead, Trem Lindo making it two with 32 played. James Whitmore pulled a goal back four minutes later and Tevie were level a minute after the break as Cameron Pinnock got number two. Kyme Mason gave the home side the lead back before two goals in the space of a minute ended the scoring as Robbie Savage levelled once more in the 62nd minute, Arnold immediately claiming the points with an Aaron Wainaina goal. Linby Colliery took a point from a 2-2 draw with South Normanton. Joe Butler’s goal in the 8th minute got Linby off the mark, Ryan Hadley equalising on 33, but falling behind again to Mason Moore strike shortly before half time. The only goal in the second period went the way of the Shiners, Josh Parfitt ensuring a share of the points three minutes after the restart. Cromford & Wirksworth Town drew 1-1 with Bakewell Town, the match having been reversed due to the first frost of the season which makes a change. After Bakewell had been reduced to ten men on 15 minutes, Dan Watson gave Cromford the lead, Matt Kelcey’s reply for Bakewell the reward for a hard-working display.. Wirksworth Ivanhoe fad a convincing 3-0 win at Mansfield Hosiery Mills, Jack Higton’s double and one for Billy Franklin taking the points. The top of the table remains congested with just two points separating first and sixth although Singh Brothers have three games in hand on the rest. Pinxton’s winning streak was ended by Melbourne Dynamo who move up to second place, Tyler Withers with the only goal of the match.

BUCKINGHAM INSURANCE LEAGUE CUP

Doncaster City claimed a place in Round Three of the league after a close encounter with AFC Bentley, which was settled by a 52nd minute goal from Shay Evans Booth which earns City a short journey to Hatfield Town.

MACRON STORE NOTTINGHAM DIVISION ONE NORTH

Armthorpe Welfare remain unbeaten as they saw off second placed Worksop Town 2-0. Clayton Cherowbrier and Keelan Webb The goalscorers. Sheffiekd FC slipped to a 2-0 efeat at Harworth Colliery, Robert Boot and Harvey Walker the men on target. The Scunthorpe derby between Bottesford Town and Appleby Frodingham went the way of Bottesford with Chris McDonald getting both in a 2-1 win.

DIVISION ONE EAST

Blidworth Welfare and Kirton Brickworks are still inseparable at the top of the table with identical playing records, both teams adding another three points to their totals. Blidworth had a 5-2 win at Shirebrook Rangers, Tris Burrell’s hat trick and one apiece from Scott Taylor and Kyle Bacon winning it for Blidworth while Callum Price scored twice for the hosts. Kirton meanwhile were beating Teversal. Goals in the first eleven minutes for Louis Colley and Jack March gave them the perfect start, March getting his second after half an hour with Scott Ricketts sealing the win eight minutes from the end. Ashland Rovers slipped further off the pace after a 3-2 home defeat against Pilsley. Johnny Baka git both for the home side, Pilsley going one better thanks to Callum Baker, Nathan Flint and an own goal> RHP had a deserved 6-0 win at the YMCA against Clipstone with two Sol Miller goals added to by George Sheen, Jason Thurlby, Jack Price and a thunderous own goal. A four goal haul for Ollerton Town’s Archie Ward as his side won 6-3 at Sleetmoor United. Gilera Mare grabbed the other two, Sleetmoor scoring through Mike Chapman with two and Oli Hill.

DIVISION ONE WEST

Holbrook Sports regained the leadership following a 3-! home win against Bakewell Town. They fell behind after just five minutes from a Freddie Hatcher strike, equalising in the 2!st minute with a goal from Ethan Watson. Bakewell held uut until the hour mark when Alistair Broughton put the home side ahead, Brad Daly making sure for Sports in the 82nd minute. A big win for Kilburn who put seven past Holbrook St Michaels without reply. Jordan Mighty hit a treble with Kaine Bray adding two, Ben Hilton and an own goal making up the total. Inter Belper beat Rowsley 86 3-1. Harry Brown gave Inter a dream start, scoring twice in the first eight minutes, Daniel Boulby getting one for Rowsley with 36 played, Tom Bednal putting the result beyond doubt twenty minutes from the end. Bargate Rovers drew 1-1 with Little Eaton, Fenwick Butcher the Bargate scorer, while in the other game Heanor Town beat Belper United 3-0.

DIVISION ONE SOUTH

Baobab United remain in the lead after a 6-3 win against Punjab United whose scorers were Rajan Pangulier, Simeon Lawrence and Kirk Francis. Burton United are fourth after their 4-2 defeat of Hemington Hammers. Brad Wright scored twice and there were also goals for Jamie Disney and Rene Pivarnik. Hemington’s reply came from Naymish Mistry and Bobby Janabo. The other Burton team didn’t fare as well, Hornets beaten 3-0 at home by FC Sunnyhill, Scoring for Sunnyhill were Leonel Baudhi, Myles Sturgess and Forrest Parkinson
Also firing on all cylinders were Hilton Harriers with a 6-2 win against Castle Donington, Sam Morris and Jon Jibbison each scoring twice, Mitch Lord and Jack Roberts with one apiece. Tye Parker got both for the visitors. Jake Meakin’s goal for Stapenhill proved enough to take the points Against Allenton United.

DRAYTON PACS DIVISION TWO.

Melbourne Dynamo and Willington United are pulling clear of the rest at the head of the table, Willington doing themselves a favour, by beating Castle Donington 7-2. Mason Bannister leading the way with a hat trick while the others were shared between Charlie Carter, Shay Hughes, Ollie Cass and Corie Whitecross. Jimmy Cartwright scored twice in Newhall United’s 3-2 win at Markeaton. Tristan Sharp adding the other one while Joe Daly and Cameron Davies were on the scoresheet for the home team. Winster Darley Lions saw off the challenge of Sherwin with a 3-1 win. Josh Raybould, Connor Sanderson and Lee Boden for Winster, Connor Sharpe for Sherwin.

COUNTY CUPS

At the fourth time of asking AFC Normanton finally played their Derbyshire Division al Cup tie with Furness Vale, but it ended in disappointment as they lost out 4-3. The lead switched three times as goals from Jak Lightl, Kieran Grant and Josh Manifold proved not quite enough.
