History

The club was initially formed under the name of Brittains Petite Fc, after a group of work friends who played five a side together decided to enter the Notts Amateur league in 1991-1992.
The first season was a total disaster, but the following season saw the club renamed AC Bulwell, Along with the change of name came an influx of new players, who went on to win the Notts Amateur league Division 3 at a canter scoring a then record 135 goals in the process.
The club then went from strength to strength with a string of successes from 1993 to 1998. The club turned down an offer to merge with Pelican FC in the senior alliance in 2000, The club had more success in 2004/5 becoming the first winners of the Notts Amateur Alliance Premier division but in 2005/06 the club were suspended due to unpaid bookings. The club was reinstated in 2006 after lengthy negotiations with the NAA and was entered into the Premier Division, under the new banner of BULWELL FC.
The club also set up a new committee to ensure the clubs stability both on & off the field, The club went on to win the division at the first attempt and also reached the Notts FA Intermediate Cup Final losing 2 – 0 to Blidworth Welfare. Due to the ground facilities the club remained in the NAA, retaining the League trophy with a record of 27 wins 1 defeat which came in the final fixture. A move to the Notts Senior League was granted for the 2008/09 season after we changed venue again to River Leen School. However due to circumstances beyond our control we had to find new facilities quickly due to the school being renovated
Thankfully Basford Utd offered us the opportunity to play our League One fixtures on their ground at Greenwich Avenue,. Yet again the club gained silverware winning the NSL Division One league title at the first attempt. Promotion to the senior division was’nt automatic as the pitch we were allocated didn’t meet the grading of the senior division, but a meeting with Basford Utd was arranged and fortunately the club were given the go ahead to ground share with Basford Utd first team on the main pitch at Greenwich Avenue.
As the season 2010/11 season progressed players left the club barely able to fulfil their fixtures. The following season the club was rekindled by former secretary Andy Radford after being approached by a new management team in Terry Witts & Steve Osborne, and almost overnight the club looked healthy again and after a slow start things were soon turned around the club then going undefeated in the league from September to secure the league title by 18 points also winning the NSL Senior Cup, The Bulls added Ian Lowe to the management team for 2012/13,and remained unbeaten with a 100% record, finishing a massive 32 points clear also retaining the NSL Senior Cup.
A new era began for the club in 2013 being accepted into the Central Midlands League Southern Division,
After a very poor start to the season a steadying of the ship soon ensured the club began to rise up the table with a unbeaten run from September to April which took the Bulls to the summit of the league table before a poor end to the campaign saw a creditable 3rd place finish coupled with a superb victory over AFC Mansfield in the Floodlit Cup Final. Witts & Osborne both then resigned from the Team management and took up the roles of General Managers of the Club. In came George Hulley with Lowe aiding him on the team management, Results soon began to turn around, the season ending with another 3rd place finish after a couple of lapses had cost Hulley & Lowe the runners up spot.
