Central Midlands Alliance Roundup for September 16th

MIDWEEK MATCHES

Just a handful of midweek fixtures this week. In the Premier North Elite inflicted a 4-2 defeat on Harworth Colliery at Scrooby Road. Harworth took a 3rd minute lead through Josh Fraiwald but the visitors were soon level with a Robbie Wood goal three minutes later. Fraiwald restored the home side’s lead on the stroke of half time, the visitors taking the points with a burst of three goals in ten second half minutes, Wood completing his hat trick, Sammy Amissah also scoring. Graham St Prims missed the chance to go top of the Premier South as two late Melbourne Dynamo goals saw them lose their 100% record. Dynamo struck twice in the last ten, Tyler Withers with the first on 81minutes, Sam Simpson in stoppage sealing the win.
Sheffield FC had a comfortable 3-0 win against Bottesford Town in Division One North. Carter Tingle broke the deadlock five minutes before half time, Cameron Burgin doubling the lead on 49 minutes before Demetrius Timms rounding things off midway through the second half. It was the same score in the Division Two game between Ashover and Bargate Rovers, the visitors taking the points, Brad Sadler, Lewis Barker and Jake Gascoigne the scorers

WEEKEND MATCHES

Number four came from Jack Waldron halfway through the second half, Sam Hanna finishing the evening’s entertainment in stoppage time. In an entertaining match at Shirebrook Chesterfield Youth saw off Rossington Main 3-1. James Simmonite opened the scoring for the home side, Dan Green equalising before the break. Further goals from Liam Jessop and Paolo Aguas settled the match in Chesterfield’s favour. Doncaster City kept a grip on second spot with a convincing 7-2 win at Elite AFC. Shay Evans Booth set things in motion with the opening goal on 14 minutes, Rio Allen adding a second before Evans Booth got another with 26 minutes on the clock. He took his personal tally to four with two in two minutes shortly after half time. Elite rallied briefly with Tommy Pallett and Sammy Amissah reducing the arrears but City had the last word, Darren Bird on 88 minutes and Muhamet Gashi in stoppage time adding to the goal difference. Retford Reserves won their sixth successive game as they ground out a 2-1 win against Woodhouse Colts who went ahead with a Charles Simpkins goal on 41 minutes. Retford levelled the scores after an hour with a Liam Cross penalty and took the points after 73 minutes, debutant Will Hunter grabbing the winner. Brandon Burke’s hat trick propelled Yorkshire Main to a 3-1 win against Staveley Reserves whose goal came from Callum Brown. At the sixth attempt SJR Worksop broke their duck with a 2-0 defeat of AF Phoenix. The goals came at either end of the match, Ryan Parker scoring in the fifth minute and Tom Mullen in the 88th.

PREMIER SOUTH DIVISION

Derby Singh Brothers took Teversal’s unbeaten record and prolonged their own as they took all three points with a 3-1 win. Tyler Johal scored the first of his hat trick on 3 minutes followed by goals in the last minute of the first half and the first minute of the second. Jack McWilliams got Tevie’s goal with an hour played. Bakewell Town also surrendered their unbeaten record but in more spectacular style as they were beaten 5-0 at home by South Normanton Athletic. There were two goals each for Elliott Bland and Tyrone Macaskill, one for Grant Mitchell. Graham St Prims made a quick recovery from Wednesday’s reverse as they won 5-3 at Wirksworth Ivanhoe. Prims’ goals were spread between Max Bulmer, Alex Seale, Harry Stevens, Callum Wilson and Liam Gregg with Billy Franklin, Jack Higton and Leighton Sammans replying for Ivanhoe. Nathan Brothwood opened their account on 6 minutes with Josh Manifold getting the second with 23 minutes on the clock, Mickleover’s Fin Ryder got a goal back almost immediately but Todd Warner restored the two goal lead five minutes later, Jak Lightly adding a fourth midway through the second half. Melbourne Dynamo completed a profitable few days by beating Mansfield Hosiery Mills 2-1, both goals scored by Oscar Supple, Henry Brooks the Millers’ scorer. Pinxton’s third clean sheet in a row proved decisive as a Ben Gowing goal gave them the edge over Mickleover RBL. The points were shared in the local derby at Eagle Valley, Tyler Cobb’s fifth minute goal for Arnold Town giving them the advantage until three minutes from time when Luke Dye nicked a point for Linby Colliery.

DIVISION ONE EAST

The Brickies goals were shared between Aaron Emmerson, Connor Steel, Jack March and Lewis Colley, with Kyle Shaw and Ryan Butler the scorers for Rovers. Kirton are joined at the head of the table by Blidworth who beat RHP 5-1. Reilly Hodgkinson scored twice in the first half to give Blidworth a rather flattering advantage. Although Sol Miller’s penalty gave the visitors some hope Blidworth dominated the second half with Hodgkinson completing a well deserved hat trick and Tristan Burrell adding a couple to claim a deserved three points. A youthful Linby Colliery side, all under 18, won 4-0 at Sleetmoor United, Sam Coxon, Lucas Wood, Josh Baldwin and Will Knowles all finding the net. The remaining three games were all drawn. Long Bennington’s Kenzie Foat put them ahead after ten minutes, Curtis Sharples equalising for Pilsley Community with 70 minutes played. Shirebrook Rangers and Teversal achieved that rarest of results in the league, a goalless draw, the first in the whole league this season (unless my eyes deceive me).

Holbrook beat Cromford & Wirksworth Town 4-2, Ethan Watson scoring twice, Mike Birkinshaw and Owen Nixon also on the scoresheet. Mickleover Athletic defeated Bakewell Town 5-1. Belper United’s derby match with Inter Belper was the second goalless draw of the day.

DIVISION ONE SOUTH

Performance of the day came from Punjab United, who hammered Hemington Hammers 8-1. A hat trick from Simeon Lawrence, two for Abdul Akrah and Altin Dobra and another from Rajan Pangulier made up the total, Matt Brian with the goal for the visitors. Hilton Harriers lead the way after a 3-1 success at Burton Hornets. Joe Nye, Harry Baines and Jon Jibbison were the goalscorers for Harriers, Tobias Mott with one for the hosts. Bamoussa Cisse’s double with a goal each for Jordan Braham and Callum Glenny were the men behind Baobab United’s 4-2 win against Castle Donington for whom Dominic O'Connor and Tye Parker were the scorers

DRAYTON PACS DIVISION TWO

There were plenty of goals in Division Two with Willington taking the honours with a 9-1 thrashing of Newhall United. Six players shared the goals, Mason Bannister (3), Kieran McClarty (2), Alex Greenwell, Charlie Carter, Ben Holder and Dale Mansfield the men behind the win. Newhall’s solitary reply came from Tristan Sharp. Nine goals at Castle Donington with the home side getting half a dozen of them. A Ben Wallace treble with Ryan Thomas, Adam Stallard and Kyle Schuler saw them take the points, visitors Ashover’s goals scored by Cole Oliver with two and Jack Beckworth. There was a narrow 3-2 win for Ashland Rovers, Ashley Cunningham, Tyler Dangerfield and josh Greveson getting the goals that beat Little Eaton 3-2. Finally, in contrast to the other matches, Oliver Wood got the only goal of the game to give Sherwin the points against Aston Village.
