Central Midlands Alliance Roundup for August 19th

MIDWEEK MATCHES

There were just a handful of games in midweek. In the Black Dragon Premier South Division it was a bad night for the two Mickleover teams. . RBL went down 2-1 at home to Derby Singh Brothers for whom Tyler Kuljeet Johal got a double, Ben Rushby on target for the Legion. Meanwhile Wirksworth Ivanhoe opened their season by getting the better of Mickleover Reserves 2-0, Lucas Brough and Ryan Marchington with the goals. On Wednesday night Pinxton kickstarted their season, picking up the points in a 5-2 defeat of newcomers Mayfield. The home side’s goals were shared between five players, Josh Deakin, Ben Jones, Jay Cooper, Tom Sharpe and Ben Gowring all finding the net, Sam Howard with both for Mayfield.
In the only North Division match, Retford Reserves made it three wins from four, seeing off Elite AFC 3-1. Brandon Hooley put Retford in front, Sam Amissah levelling things before half time. A second from Hooley and one for Luke Bown completed the scoring

WEEKEND MATCHES

Another crowd of over 200 turned out for Dinnington Town’s Friday night encounter with Rossington Main Reserves. The match ended in a 3-3 draw, Joe Harris, Brad Sedgwick and Justin Circuit with the goals for Dinnington, Rossington taking a point thanks to Damian Wieczorek, Jason Stokes and Callum Aspinall. Dearne & District and Doncaster City lead the way with four straight wins. Dearne travelled the short distance to Elite AFC, returning with the points after a 4-2 win. Enzo Guarini and Baz Lowe gave them a two goal lead at the break, but Elite got one back through Brodey Burden. A Ryan Dean double won it for the visitors, Bartek Chrobak scoring a late consolation for Elite. Doncaster City completed their fourth clean sheet, putting five goals past AFC Phoenix who look set for another trying season. Phoenix got off to the worst possible start, conceding an own goal in the second minute and were four adrift by half time. Rio Allan scored for the fourth successive game with goals on 10 and 39 minutes, Muhamet Gashi adding another two minutes before half time, Allan completing his hat trick with 53 minutes played. AFC Bentley dropped their first points of the season as Yorkshire Main came from behind twice to force a 2-2 draw. Steve Garner put Bentley in front on 16 minutes, Main levelling the scores three minutes before the interval with a Brandon Burke goal. Two minutes into the second half Theo Mowatt regained . the lead for the hosts but Main were not to be denied, Sammy Race gaining them a point midway through the half. Woodhouse Colts had a 2-1 win at home to Kiveton Miners Welfare with goals from Jayden Bull and Tom Bailey, with Dillon Gregory with one for Kiveton. Despite having another four debutants, Glapwell fell away in the second half, subsiding to a 5-1 defeat at home to Hatfield Town. Callum Stockton got a first minute goal for the visitors, James Bytheway adding number two in the 16th minute. Kieran Starbuck pulled one back on the half hour, but three further goals in a 15 minute spell in the second half settled things with Stockton and Bytheway getting a second goal each. Jake Buckley also finding the net.

In the South Mickleover Reserves and South Normanton Athletic shared six goals on Friday night. The Shiners came from behind three times Josh Parfitt with two and Tom McTighe bringing them level after two goals from Kai Moore and one for Sam Tomlinson had netted for Mickleover. Four Saturday matches ended with all four home teams scoring three goals each. Graham Street Prims beat Arnold Town 3-0, Alex Seale got a goal in each half, Max Bulmer tying things up ten minutes from Time. Linby Colliery saw off Cromford & Wirksworth Town by the odd goal in five at Church Lane. Linby were quick off the mark, Dylan Walker’s second minute goal followed by a Sanousi Ibrahim penalty before Josh Henshaw got one for Cromford. Walker hit a second just before the interval and although Dec Jenkins scored a second for Cromford three minutes after the restart, they couldn’t find an equaliser. It was the same score at Wirksworth Ivanhoe where the home side beat Mayfield 3-2. Lucas Brough (2) and Jack Higton were on target for the home side, Joe Handley and Alex Moss replying for Mayfield. The remaining match ended all square at 3-3. Mansfield Hosiery Mills let slip a two goal half time lead at Derby Singh Brothers who Turned the game around scoring three times before the Millers salvaged a point. The goals for Singhs came from Lee Williamson, Raza Mughal and Darnell Smith with Tom Suter (2) and Henry Brooks scoring for the visitors.

MACRON STORE NOTTINGHAM DIVISION ONE NORTH

Armthorpe Welfare began their season with a Friday night trip to Scunthorpe to face Appleby Frodingham. They returned home on the back of a 3-0 win, Bradley Sparrow scoring twice, Jack Durose also finding the net. Saturday’s two matches produced no fewer than 17 goals. Harworth Colliery opened their campaign with a 7-3 win against Bottesford Town, recovering from two goals down. Jacob Furness grabbed a hat trick and there was one apiece for Joe Bartlett, Gage Johnson, Harvey Walker and Harvey Penders while Tom Pearson with two and Connor White were Bottesford’s scorers. In the other match Dearne & District won 6-1 at Crowle Colts, Adam Simmons with the goal for Crowle

DIVISION ONE EAST

In their first Division One match Ashland Rovers had a narrow 2-1 win over RHP. Michael Dennis put them ahead as early as the sixth minute, adding a second five minutes before half time. RHP’s reply came too late, Solomon Miller netting in the 88th minute. An entertaining game at Clipstone saw the home side go down to a 3-! defeat at the hands of Long Bennington. Kenzie Foat scored twice for the visitors, Tom King with the other, Craig Buchanan for the Cobras. A Lewis Clift goal in the 6th minute wasn’t enough to take a point for Teversal at Ollerton Town as a brace from Tishaun Brown in the space of six second half minutes settled the outcome. A good start for Kirton Brickworks in a close game at Pilsley. Jack March and Scott Ricketts ensured a 2-1 win for the visitors, Shane Marriott with Pilsley’s reply. Linby Colliery defeated Shirebrook Rangers 4-1. The goals were shared between Luke Dye, Zach Hamilton, Alfie Beeston and Patrick Stefaniac with Luke Morton finding the net for the home team. Much fancied Blidworth Welfare got off to a winning start, defeating Sleetmoor United 3-0, Reilly Hodgkinson, Jason Straw and Tristan Burrell the scorers.

DIVISION ONE WEST
Cromford & Wirksworth Town hosted Belper United on Wednesday evening, with the home side fighting back three times to take a share of the points. Toby McGuire’s opener for Belper was answered by Jordan Watts with Alex Blair-Park giving the visitors a half time lead. Alex Brown levelled before Cromford secured a point with Graham Whysall equalising Daz Bernard’s third for Belper. A great start for Holwell Sports who put Rowsley 86 to the sword scoring six without reply.. There were three goals in each half, Joe Birkenshaw, Owen Nixon and Ewan Barnes putting Holbrook in control by the break, Birkenshaw, Nixon and Morgan Holloway completing the job in the second half. Half a dozen goals also for Mickleover Athletic who beat Bargate Rovers 6-2. Harry Foxton and Jamie Laird ran in two each for Mickleover whose other goals came from Dan Mitchell and Callum Horton. Bargate responded with a goal apiece for Tom Sanders and Tom Lewis. All the goals came in the first half at Kilburn where the home side beat Heanor Town 3-1. Jordan Mighty scored twice in the first twenty minutes before Josh Newham pulled one back for the visitors, Kaine Bray restoring the two goal difference before the break. A single goal for Niall Slack took the points for Holbrook St Michaels against Inter Belper.

DIVISION ONE SOUTH

A great start for Hilton Harriers as they hit Hemington Hammers for six with Jon Jibbison leading the way with a hat trick, Sam Morris adding two and Billy Freebrough also scoring, Josh Bunyan with both for the Hammers. Stapenhill won 3-1 against Baobab United. Cameron Briscoe’s 31st minute goal was the only one in the first half. Jude Ayetine increased the lead three minutes after the restart, Musa Jeng reducing the deficit on 56 minutes, Ayetine scoring again five minutes later to complete the scoring. Allenton United were 3-2 winners against FC Sunnyhill, Shaun Roberts (2) and Oliver Buton the scorers.

DRAYTON PACS DIVISION TWO

Biggest score of the day was at Willington where the home team were 9-4 winners against Castle Donington. Willington were five up by half time, the visitors rallying in the second half. Charlie Carter and Kieran McLarty both hit hat tricks, Mason Bannister adding two and Dan Bradley also scoring. For the visitors Scott Bucknall scored twice, Tye Parker and Jacob Oakland with one each. Gavin McReady notched two and Cameron Martin one as Little Eaton shaded their game at Sherwin 3-2, Matt Harper and Ignatious Zhoo scoring for the hosts. Wirksworth Ivanhoe and Aston Village shared six goals, Aston having the points taken from under their noses as their opponents scored twice in the final minutes. Scorers for Wirksworth were Reece Marshall with two and Reece Lester, Aston’s goals coming from Evan Pearson (2) and Jordan Mayer. Bargate Rovers had Stephen Barker to thank for their 1-0 win at Winster and Darley Lions.
