MIDWEEK MATCH

At last three points for Glapwell. After eleven straight defeats they finally came good at Staveley on Wednesday night defeating the home side 2-1. Glapwell were the more threatening in the first half and went in ahead at the interval a goal to the good thanks to a 28th minute goal from Enri Hebblethwaite Staveley equalised.in the first minute of the second half through Ben Baillie but the visitors weren’t to be denied. Nathan Bower grabbing the winner deep into stoppage time.

WEEKEND MATCHES

Once again 4G pitches saved the day with the great majority of the handful of games which did go ahead were played mainly on artificial surfaces. On Friday night Mickleover Reserves had a 5-1 win over Wirksworth Ivanhoe with Josh Powell scoring a treble, Marcus Tudgay and Luis Mass Hall getting one apiece Wirksworth's goal coming from Tom Mellor. Saturday saw two matches in the Black Dragon Badges Premier North Division. Glapwell couldn’t build on their midweek result, Dinnington Town putting six past them without reply. Mitchell Clogg opened the scoring in the 13th minute with Ashley Cooper doubling the lead six minutes later. Jordan Turner got number three with half an hour gone, Justin Circuit giving the home side a comfortable lead at the interval, Turner completing his hat trick with goals in the 68th and 84th minutes. Elite FC also hit six, their match against Rossington Main Reserves ending 6-1, Robbie Wood leading the way with four, Mateo Dumitrescu and San]m Limber adding the other two.
Only a couple of games in The Macron Store Nottingham Division One North but fifteen goals. Top of the table Armthorpe Welfare kept their unbeaten record with an 8-3 win over Crowle Colts. For the home side Ollie Hemstock got a hat trick, Brad Sparrow added two with Shane Carver, Jack Durose and Mason Collins scoring a goal each. For Crowle George Neal scored twice and Nathan Lock once. Second placed Worksop Town beat Dearne & District 4-0, the Tigers’ goals coming from Dan Gilbert (2), Pharrell Waite and Rosty Yaremenko

Three more clubs join Harworth in Round Two of the Division One Cup. A rare but very welcome win for Sleetmoor United as they beat Little Eaton 4-1 thanks to two goals for Ollie Broadley and one apiece for Will Price and Connor Kerry with Daniel Peberdy getting the goal for Little Eaton. Long Bennington worked hard to get their pitch ready and were rewarded with a 3-0 win against Appleby Frodingham. Kenzie Foat put them in front on 39 minutes and doubled his tally with 54 played, Ben Barretto putting the result beyond doubt in the 77th minute. RHP joined them in the second round by beating Pilsley 5-1. The home side led 2-1 at half time with goals from Sol Miller and Keanu Jones, Pilsley’s cause not helped by the loss of their keeper midway through the half. With the wind in their favour the home side took the tie, Miller completing his hat trick, and Clownes Steele also on the scoresheet, Archie Stills scoring for Pilsley.

County Cup ties accounted for the rest of the day’s entertainment. What may well turn out to be the comeback of the season saw Melbourne Dynamo shock Allenton United in the quarter final of the Derbyshire Divisional Cup South by coming from three goals down with ten minutes to go to pull off a 4-3 win. Harry Stevens, Lambrada Domini and Elliott Meehan had put Markeaton in what must have seemed an impregnable position but Dynamo had other ideas as Charlie Tovell (2), Jake Peverley and James Smith pulled off the most unlikely of wins. The all Mickleover clash ended in a 6-4 win for RBL over Athletic. Scorers for the Legion were Dan Minto and Jordan Lee with two apiece, Dean Oliver and Emelio de Abreu, Jamie Laird getting two for Athletic Josh Ablett and Dom Hurst also scoring. Congratulations to Wirksworth Ivanhoe who won through to the final of the Derbyshire Junior Cup, beating fellow CMAL side Markeaton 3-2. Finn Frost gave Wirksworth an early lead, Ben Jones levelling in the 17th minute. Reece Marshall’s 63rd minute strike restored Wirksworth’s advantage. In the final minute of normal time Jones again equalised, but Kane Saxby booked his side’s cup final date three minutes into added time. There was disappointment for Blidworth Welfare who lost to Wollaton 5-4 in the Notts FA Senior Trophy. Four goals in the first half from Reilly Hodgkinson put Blidworth in a strong position as they led 4-2 at half time. Wollaton however were not to be denied and after reducing the lead to one went on to pinch the tie with goals as they equalised in the 88th minute and clinched the tie with the last kick of the match after no less than twelve minutes of added time
