MIDWEEK MATCH

Pinxton and Dinnington Town served up what was reported to be a credit to the league in their delayed Abacus Lighting Floodlit Cup quarter final on Tuesday night. After a pulsating 90 minutes the math ended in a 2-1 win for the Yorkshire outfit. Ash Cooper had given them a 21st minute lead, Brad Newby equalising with a 37th minute penalty. After an end to end second half, Dinnington finished the job on 81minutes to make it into the semis

Yet more headaches for the fixture secretary as another month bowed out in a sea of mud.
Dearne& District put last week’s blip behind them as a second half goal blitz swamped Woodhouse Colts, the final score 4-0. Some heroic defending by the home side kept the first half goalless but the opening quarter of an hour after the break saw Dearne find the net four times in the space of thirteen minutes. Regan Kelly opened the floodgates in the 50th minute, Baz Lowe adding a second just two minutes later. Josh Moore got another with 57 played, Enzo Guarini coming off the bench to have the final say on 63 minutes. Dearne’s next match will be Tuesday’s Floodlit Cup semi-final at Dinnington who didn’t have the best preparation as they went down 4-2 at Yorkshire Main, their first league defeat since early October. Danny Boulton hit a hat trick for Main, Brandon Burke also scoring while Dinnington’s goals came from Nathan Jessop and Cameron Evans. A hectic first 45 minutes contained all six goals as HatfIeld Town drew 3-3 with AFC Phoenix. Callum Stockton gave the home side an 11th minute lead which was snuffed out by a quick fire double from Lewis Fretwell midway through the half. James Bytheway levelled the scores on the half hour only for Billy Godbert to restore the visitors’ lead a minute later. Stockton had the final word with the final goal on 37 minutes Two games only remained in the Premier South. Melbourne Dynamo climbed into second spot following a comfortable 4-0 defeat of Bakewell Town. Tyler Withers was first on the scoresheet after 20 minutes, followed four minutes later by James Smith. Charlie Tovell scored number three on 28 minutes, the same player getting the final goal after an hour. In the other match Holbrook St Michaels picked up their fifth point of the season in a goalless draw at Linby Colliery.

First team into the semi finals of the Buckingham Insurance League Cup are Cromford & Wirksworth Town who knocked out Rossington Main Reserves 2-1. Main edged the first half and led with a Ben Clarke goal at the break. They were reduced to ten men on the hour, Cromford taking full advantage as Noah Evans and Matt Dranfield saw them into the last four.
Three games, 19 goals in Division One North. Leaders Armthorpe Welfare crashed to a 6-2 defeat at Bottesford Town. On target for Bottesford were Donovan Day with two, Richard Fox, Ben Henderson, Harvey Birrell, Daniel Texeira, while Rory Miller and Shane Carver restored a little pride for Armthorpe. Worksop Town are now just a point behind Armthorpe after a 5-0 win at Crowle Colts, Alfie Parnell, Rhys Butterworth, Max Eastwood, Ethan Slater and Asher Shafiq with a goal apiece. Harworth Colliery were the third side to rack up the goals, Harvey Walker and Joe Bartlett each scored twice, Harvey Penders once in a 5-1 home win against Appleby Frodingham.

Blidworth Welfare reduced the gap at the top of Division One East to ten points with five games in hand on Kirton with a 4-2 win at Pilsley, who must be kicking themselves for conceding three penalties, two of which were converted. It was one apiece at half time, Liam Carver putting Blid ahead, Archie Skills scoring for the hosts. Reilly Hodgkinson atoned for missing the first penalty by scoring the second one before Tris Burrell got a third and Kyle Bacon slotted home the third spot kick leaving just enough time for Jack Maltby to grab a second for Pilsley, Long Bennington scored twice in each half To register a 4-0 win against Clipstone. Kenzie Foat on 25 mInutes and Corey Evans five minutes later gave them the half time advantage, with the other goals coming in the final five minutes from Alfie Morley and Kye Hull. There was a welcome point for Shirebrook Rangers who drew 2-2 with Ashland Rovers, Ashley Wheat and Luke Morton scoring for Rangers, Jordan Davis And Dylan Gipp for Rovers.

Just one game in Division One West which went the way of Holbrook St Michaels, Kian Roome scoring both goals in a 2-0 defeat of Rowsley 86. One match also in the South Division with FC Sunnyhill heating Castle Donington 2-1 courtesy of scorers Myles Sturgess and Lewis Benjamin.

Three teams made it through to the next round of the Macron Store Nottingham Division One Cup. RHP travelled to Doncaster to take on Bessacarr, returning with a 2-1 win, Sol Miller hitting both for the Newark side, Harrison Richardson replying for the home team. Dearne & District beat Ollerton Town on penalties after the game ended all square at 2-2. Bailey Wilson and Oliver Ravenscroft’s goals for Dearne matched by Ollerton’s Archie Ward and Joe Tunnard, Dearne winning the shootout 3-2. The Belper derby resulted in a 3-0 win for Inter against United;.Goalscorers for Inter were Ziggy Roddis with two and Harry Brown.

The only match to survive in the Mel Williams Division Two Cup resulted in a 7-1 win for pacesetters Melbourne Dynamo over Newhall United. Riley Moore and Joe Shadbolt each scored twice for Dynamo, Robin Bentley, Sam Bancroft Pharrell Baines also finding the net with Tristan Sharp getting Newhall’s goal.
