Central Midlands Alliance Roundup for September 2nd

MIDWEEK MATCHES

Just a handful of matches this week. In the Premier South Division, Teversal made it four games unbeaten, a single Jake Allen goal in the 48th minute was enough to take the points in their match with Holbrook St Michaels. AFC Normanton’s win was much more decisive as they won their third straight game, putting six past Nottingham FC without reply. Vladislavs Nitiss and Josh Manifold each scored twice with Brandon Hunt and Joe Frost completing the half dozen.
In Division One North, two goals in two minutes saw Armthorpe Welfare defeat Sheffield FC 2-0. Bradley Sparrow got the first after 14 minutes, Jack Gregory hitting the second just a couple of minutes later. Meanwhile in the East Division the points were shared, Tristan Burrell’s strike for the home team matched by a Jack March free kick for the Brickies. Mickleover won for the third consecutive time, their West Division match against Cromford & Wirksworth Town finishing 7-1. Jamie Laird’s hat trick and one apiece for Harry Foxon, Dom Hurst, Dan Mitchell and Brad Foley did the trick for Mickleover, Tobie McGuire’s goal the highlight for the visitors. Ashover endured a baptism of fire at the hands of Wirksworth Ivanhoe who cantered to a 9-0 win, Wirksworth taking their goal tally to seventeen in four days. Reece Marshall’s treble, two from Owen King and one each for Billy Franklin, Sam Roberts, Damien Vinall and Daniel Gwyther made it an impressive start to the season for

WEEKEND MATCHES

BLACK DRAGON BADGES PREMIER NORTH DIVISION

Doncaster City left it very late to take the points from their home match with Woodhouse Colts. The visitors went in front on 56 minutes with a goal from Jermaine Jatau but hopes of an unexpected victory were dashed as Muhamet Gashi equalised in the 84th minute and Rio Allen and Jonny Nyantou added goals in a lengthy period of extra time. Another late strike saw Retford Reserves snatch the points with a 3-2 defeat of Chesterfield Youth. Ben Marro put Retford ahead in the tenth minute but the Spireites were in front by the break, James Simmonite and a Ben Rossiter penalty giving them the advantage. Leo Kovac levelled ten minutes after the restart, Retford getting the winner on 89 minutes in a match which neither side deserved to lose.
Dearne & District march on. Their latest victims were Rossington Main Development, the final score 5-1. After going behind to Will McGhie penalty the visitors were quick to respond, the in-form Bayley Lowe hitting a first half hat trick to take his season’s tally to twelve, Josh Moore adding two in the second half to carry on the run. Elite AFC ran in eight goals without reply as Glapwell crashed to another heavy defeat. Sammy Amissah starred with five goals, and there was a goal each for Tom Yates, Bartek Chrobak and Cole Patrick. Yorkshire Main also had an 8-0 win, AFC Phoenix on the wrong end of the scoreline. Main had two hat trick heroes, Brandon Burke and Szymon Czubik both with trebles, Brad McFadden and Josh Gelder completing the scoring. The points were shared at Phoenix Park, Dinnington Town and Harworth Colliery playing out a 2-2 draw. Nathan Jessop’s two from the penalty spot for the home side were matched by a double from Harworth’s Josh Fraiwald. Kiveton Miners Welfare came from two down to deny SJR Worksop the points, the final score 4-3. Dean Bonser put the visitors in front in the 36th minute, Ash Brook getting a second two minutes after half time. Kiveton’s revival began halfway through the second half with Solly Limb’s penalty, Abiodun Olukoton levelling the score on 74. After taking the lead on 80 minutes Dillon Gregory scored a fourth two minutes later, Mason Gee’s last minute goal for St Joseph’s coming too late to make a difference.

PREMIER SOUTH DIVISION

AFC Normanton made it four from four, two late goals against Mansfield Hosiery Mills taking them to the top of the early standings. The Millers had taken the lead on 58 minutes through Henry Brooks, but were pegged back by a goal from Nathan Brothwood, Jak Lightly nicking the points in the final minute. After last Saturday’s win Arnold Town returned to earth with a bump as the fell to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Cromford & Wirksworth Town. Dan Watson on 7 minutes and Scott Taylor on 22 gave the visitors a cushion at half time, the same pair scoring in the second period, Watson with 52 on the clock, Taylor twenty minutes later. Graham St Prims had a comfortable 5-0 win against bottom of the table Nottingham FC. Alex Seale got a double with Nathan Bennett, Max Bulmer and Callum Wilson also hItting the back of the net. Mayfield’s debut season in the top tier has not been without its problems. They went down to their fifth successive defeat, 6-2 at Mickleover RBL despite going in with a 2-1 lead at the interval. Mason Smith and Ryan Austin put the visitors in a good position, Mason Booth-Davies scoring for the Legion. The hosts dominated the second half, Booth Davies getting his second, Sam Vickers adding two with Dean Oliver and Cole Hassell making up the half dozen. Four goals in the first half at Teversal where the clash with South Normanton Athletic ended in a 2-2 draw. Danny Fletcher on 20 minutes and James Whitmore in 33 put Tevie in a promising position but four minutes later Jordan Macaskill reduced the deficit, Tom McTighe bringing the scores level with 40 played and that’s how it stayed. It was a close run thing at Linby Colliery where a 77th minute goal from Morgan Richards proved sufficient for Pinxton to go home with the points. Derby Singh Brothers interrupted Wirksworth Ivanhoe’s promising start to the season, Tyler Johal (2) and Darnell Smith the scorers in a 3-0 win. Bakewell Town made it three straight wins putting four unopposed goals past Holbrook St Michaels, James Bean with two, Jack Walters and Jack Young the scorers.

MACRON STORE NOTTINGHAM DIVISION ONE NORTH

Lincoln side Streina FC will remember their debut in the league for all the wrong reasons as they suffered a 9-0 thrashing at the hands of visitors Bottesford Town. The goals were shared between Keigan Hutchinson who got a hat trick, Harvey Birrell, Daniel Teixeira and Olly Wells who contributed two apiece. Armthorpe Welfare recorded their third successive win, 7-1 at Harworth Colliery. Bradley Sparrow’s goal on 6 minutes got the visitors off to a good start, Ollie Hemstock and two from Liam Williams all but completing the job. Sparrow completed his hat trick after the break, Harrison Baker’s 87th minute goal finishing the scoring. Harworth’s goal came from a Jack Noble penalty. Sheffield FC were also among the goals, beating Crowle Colts 5-0. Mason Pickering’s goal on the half hour and one for Carter Tingle two minutes before the interval were followed by a third from Kallum Dury and a brace in overtime by Cameron Burgin. Worksop Town made a belated start to their season, a 32nd minute Kirk Bradshaw goal giving the edge over hosts Bessacarr. Ben Kirk and Rio Jacomb were on target for Appleby Frodingham in their 2-1 defeat of Dearne & District.

DIVISION ONE EAST

Ashland Rovers lead the way, their third win in a row coming at the expense of Linby Colliery who scored first with a Lucas Wood goal before Ashland grabbed three before half time through Ryan Butler, Michael Dennis and Matt Fowler before a goalless second half. After dropping points in midweek Blidworth Welfare made the short journey to Clipstone winning 4-0 . Scorers for Blidworth were Reilly Hodgkinson, Tristan Burrell and George Dyson along with an own goal. The third unbeaten side are Kirton Brickworks who also won 4-0, Aaron Ellis with two, Ryan Keeley and Brad Waugh with the goals that accounted for Shirebrook Rangers. RHP had a comfortable 6-1 win at Sleetmoor United. Solomon Miller’s hat trick and one each for Regis Sugden, Keanu Jones and Callum Chilvers won it for the visitors, Morgan Snow with Sleetmoor’s reply. Long Bennington’s Tom King’s hat trick inspired his team’s 5-1 win over Ollerton Town. King struck in the 40th, 68th and 75th minutes after Kenzie Foat had opened the scoring in the 12th minute. Owen Rowley also finding the net with Alex Hardman replying for Ollerton. Connor Barnes scored after 11 minutes as Teversal won 3-0 at Pilsley Community. Craig Newton added the second five minutes into the second half, Barnes getting another just before the hour mark.

DIVISION ONE WEST

0his was the place to be for goals, the five matches producing 40 between them. Heanor Town accounted for fifteen of these as they pulverised visitors Bargate Rovers. There were three each for Jordan Whitehead, Robbie Horsley and Harrison Pearson and doubles from Ben Clegg, Taylor Conway and Jack Tipper in a totally one-sided match. Kilburn weren’t far behind with an 11-0 win at Holbrook St Michaels, Ben Hilton and Kaine Bray did most of the damage with four apiece, Chrissie Ward, Vinny Gould and Dan O’Toole with the rest of the goals. Holbrook Sports maintained their winning run with a 4-1 defeat of Belper United thanks to two goals from Connor Barnes and one for Ethan Watson and Brad Daly. Belper’s reply came from Archie Williams. Little Eaton and Bakewell Town shared six goals, Shilo Wilson, Sam Sweeney and Jack Hibbitt’s strikes for Little Eaton matched by Bakewell’s Justice Leach, Jack Heath and Caleb Fletcher. Rowsley 86 picked up a welcome three poInts after a 3-0 win against Inter Belper, Noah Wayne, Dan Boulby and Saul Greenwood with Rowsley’s goals.

DIVISION ONE SOUTH

Musa Jeng took his tally to six in three games as he scored a hat trick in Baobab United’s 6-2 win against Burton Hornets, Bamoussa Cisse added two and Jack Riley one for the hosts. Hornets replied with a goal in the 38th minute scored by Taylor Fletcher and another from Matt Powell. Allenton United were 4-1 winners at Hemington Hammers, Kai Hamilton with two, Daniel Briscoe and Cody Carter the matchwinners. Stapenhill and Castle Donington ended in a 1-1 draw. Stapenhill took a fifth minute lead through Zack Knight, the equaliser coming from Harry Ollerenshaw shortly after the hour mark.

DRAYTON PACS DIVISION TWO

The goal machine that is Wirksworth Ivanhoe made it 25 goals in a week as they overran Castle Donington 8-1 . Reece Marshall’s hat trick, a Dan Gwyther double and a goal each from Kane Saxby, Sam Roberts and Dan Bunting were enough for Wirksworth, Ben Wallace with a consolation for the home side. Willington were 4-1 winners at Markeaton, Mason Bannister (2), Ben Holder and Alex Greenwell all on target, Max Charlton with one for Markeaton. Melbourne put five past Aston Village with two from Robin Bentley and one for Riley Moore, Charlie Lovell and Pav Sohota doing the damage. Bargate Rovers took the points against Ashland Rovers winning 3-1 with a brace from Josh Pickering and one from Stephen Barker, Ashland’s scorer was Robert Whitmore. Finally Little Eaton beat Winster & Darley Lions 2-0, Jody Burton in the first half and Aaron Henry’s second half screamer in the second separating the sides.
